Getting into our groove

We are already into our second week of school, and our Bobcats are beginning to settle into new routines, new faces, and new expectations. It has been wonderful to see our new students enter our school community and become part of the Bobcat pride so quickly!

Last night’s Open House was a wonderful reminder of just how special our community is. Many students have already signed up for clubs such as 4-H, Chess, and Robotics. We are also excited to see so many parents interested in supporting our Booster Club and finding creative ways to fulfill their Fair Share hours.

Our teachers are hard at work creating engaging and informative lessons and making sure our Bobcats have a strong start to the school year. This coming week, our first field trips will be heading out, and teachers will be taking part in our first Early Release day. We will officially be underway!

And, of course, if you have some time next week, please stop by our booth at Oktoberfest. Come say hello, enjoy some delicious street corn and creative sodas, and support our school!

It is already shaping up to be a fantastic year. Thank you for being such an important part of our Bethany community!

Early Release - What, When, Where, Why?

What: This Wednesday, Sept. 16th students will be leaving school at 12:30 so that teachers can take part in our first early release day.

When: Bethany follows the Silver Falls School District calendar and our Early Release days are the same as theirs on the following Wednesdays:
Sept. 16
Sept. 30
Oct. 14
Oct. 28
Dec. 9
Feb. 10
April 7
May 5

Where: We will be meeting at the school, most often in the library.

Why: The idea is that students leave earlier while staff remain for professional work. This gives teachers uninterrupted time that is difficult to create during a normal school day because teachers are teaching, supervising students, attending meetings, and handling individual student needs.

We will be using this time to review our student data, discuss instructional strategies, and look at how we can continue to make Bethany a great school.

For a small school such as Bethany, these days can be particularly valuable because they provide time for the entire staff to work together rather than trying to coordinate separate meetings around everyone's schedules.

Volleyball practice will be at 1:00 on Early Release days.

Booster Club/PTA

Booster Club Clarification

There has been some confusion about whether the Booster Club/PTA is something families need to formally join. To clarify, all Bethany parents and guardians are members of the Booster Club—there is no separate membership required.

The Booster Club supports our school by organizing events and activities such as the Carnival and Christmas Bake Sale. The funds raised through these events go directly toward supporting our students and meeting their needs.

We are grateful for the support and involvement of our families. Your time, ideas, and participation help make these opportunities possible for our Bobcats!
