School News

Happy Friday, Bethany Families!

There was a great turnout of for Oktoberfest and our corn booth had a record year! Thank you to Mrs. Merklin and all the volunteers who made it happen. Over 1300 ears of corn, 700 cups of corn, and 950 corn dogs were served.

Our first lockdown drill of the year went very well. Officer Aljets read a story on what to expect to our Kinderagarten and first and second graders. I was so impressed by how quickly and quietly our students went to safety. They definitely know their stuff!

This week we also had a curriculum night for families to review the new BodyShop curriculum. If you were unable to attend and would like to look over the material please schedule and appointment with the office, let us know the grade(s) level(s), and we will have it ready for you.

Finally, we had our first assembly of the year with Harvey making a memorable entrance. Cats Eyes were pulled to recognize students for their PRIDE. In addition, we also recognized our first ever Cats of the Month. These students received a certificate and will have donuts and hot chocolate with Mrs. Knoll on Monday.

Lost and Found is beginning to overflow. Please have your child take a moment to look through and see if any of the items are theirs. Parents are welcome to come and search as well.

There will be NO HOT LUNCH this upcoming Friday as Mrs. Knoll will be out for the day.

Good afternoon Bethany families,

I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Susie Jacobsen and I am the new president of the PTA. I am very excited for the opportunity to serve our wonderful school and carry on the great traditions here at Bethany!

A little about me: I am a stay at home mom of 3 and a long time resident of Silverton. I attended Bethany before moving on to Silverton high school and am proud to have 2 bobcats (grades 2nd and 5th) carrying on that tradition.

I look forward to getting to know you all and seeing what new and fun things this year has to offer!
